Ms. Corfidi is an Operational Meteorologist with 26 years of forecasting and meteorology experience. Ms. Corfidi brings 16 years of operational forecasting experience from her work with the National Weather Service. She currently works as a Meteorologist Instructor at the National Weather Service’s Warning Decision Training Division, where she teaches new NWS meteorologists how to analyze Doppler radar data and issue severe weather warnings.
Ms. Corfidi spent much of her career at the Storm Prediction Center, in Norman, Oklahoma, specializing in severe weather, fire weather, flash flooding, and winter storms. She has also worked for several private weather companies, providing weather forecasts for television stations around the country, as well as international clients.
Education:
Ms. Corfidi graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, with Honors. She has completed graduate level work at the University of Oklahoma School of Meteorology as well.
